FACILITIES WORKER – MAINTENANCE FOCUS
PURPOSE
The primary purpose of this position is to provide campus maintenance support for the Building Operations Supervisor.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The person in this position must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality relative to the information obtained through the position.
MAINTENANCE DUTIES
Work planned projects as directed by the Building Operations Supervisor.
Complete maintenance work order as directed.
Assist the Building Operations Supervisor in maintaining and driving vehicles to include fueling, repositioning and road testing.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Perform preventive maintenance repairs and inspections on all church-owned and maintained properties and equipment.
Assist in the picking up supplies and materials necessary for operation and any other church needs.
Perform preventive maintenance on all HVAC systems. This may include but is not limited to changing of filters, belts, fan motor replacement, and cleaning of coils.
Other duties as required.
CUSTODIAL WORK
Assist Facilities Crew as required in setups and teardowns.
Supplement Facilities Team in cleaning tasks when necessary
Train and maintain knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitizing protocols.
Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for floor refinishing.
Refinish floors as assigned.
Other duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma, minimum
Experience in performing maintenance activities
Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Considerable physical activity requiring heavy physical work, heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds. Physical is a primary part (more than 70%) of this job.
Work environment involves possible physical risks and requires following basic safety precautions.
At certain times, work may require using a ladder or being on top of one of the roof of church buildings.
Every effort is made to maintain a consistent schedule. However, the maintenance staff must be prepared to work as needed at any time.
PERSONAL APPEARANCE
The maintenance staff is in constant contact with church members as well as members of the community. As a result, personal appearance and grooming standards are expected to be at a professional level. Uniforms will be provided.
