Young Adult and Recreation Director
Organizational Relationships
This staff person serves under the supervision of the Grow Pastor. They will work closely with the Next Gen staff to ensure a strong handoff for those moving out of the College Ministry and to ensure coordination of ministry to young adults with children.
Summary of Position
The Young Adult and Recreation Director will seek to reach and disciple young adults, single and married, from college graduation through people in their mid-30’s.

Spiritually Mature Christian
The Director of Young Adults and Recreation is in a working relationship with believers and followers of Christ. Matters of the church are seen and heard during employment in this position. Spiritual maturity is a necessary attribute in performing the job.
Confidentiality
This position is entrusted with knowledge of confidential information. A commitment to confidentiality is of the utmost priority.
Christian Representation
The Director of Young Adults and Recreation is a representative of Christ and the church both on and off the job. The applicant must be aware of their words and deeds at all times to ensure they do not conflict with the values and mission of the written Word and First Baptist Church Sevierville.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, lead, and multiply Life Groups and their leaders for young adults both on and off campus.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to equip our church to effectively engage young adults in our community.
- Lead young adult members to be actively involved in our church’s discipleship strategy – Worship, Grow, Serve, and Go. Connect them to a worship service, a life group, and a place to serve. Equip them to be a witness beyond the walls of the church.
- Oversee recreation ministry that seeks to reach and disciple young families with children. For example - Upward Basketball or Upward Soccer.
- Develop discipleship opportunities that equip young adults with issues they face: marital health, wise parenting, living single, dating, witness in the workplace, overcoming debt, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Grow Pastor.
Skills and Educational Requirements
- College degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Subject to background check.
- Cannot have been convicted of a criminal offense, including a felony or misdemeanor.
