Flood relief response

HEY CHURCH FAMILY
We are deeply aware of the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Helene. Our neighbors are suffering, and there is an urgent need. Our mission has always been to glorify God and make disciples by helping move from their point of need to hope in Christ. As the church, we are at our best when we serve together.

Many of our pastors and leaders have already been on the ground, providing assistance, and identifying ways to meet the needs of our community. In light of the overwhelming need, our Fall Festival leadership team and church staff have made the decision to relocate our fall festival to flood relief efforts. Instead of gathering at our park road property, we will utilize all available resources for the fall festival and redirect them to provide aid to those affected by the hurricane. This includes food, service hours, financial support, and all other resources.

Your generosity will enable us to provide long-term assistance to our neighbors. We recognize that the recovery process will be long term, and we are committed to being present to meet their needs and point them to hope in Christ.

FAQ's

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We are taking our fall festival on the road to serve our neighbors in Cocke County. Since communities like Newport, Del Rio, and Hartford are hurting, we are going to help them by doing what we do best — serving together.

WHY ARE WE SHIFTING OUR PLANS?
This mission of First Baptist Church is to help people move from their point of need to hope in Christ. Since there are so many of our neighbors, friends, and family members who are currently in need due to the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, our church family is ready to stand arm-in-arm as Cocke County rebuilds from the recent flooding.

WHEN IS THIS TAKING PLACE?
The dates for this event will be the same as the dates for the fall festival we were planning for our neighbors in Sevier County. Those dates are October 23-26, 2024.

WHAT TIMES WILL WE BE SERVING?
Like the previous answer, the times will remain the same for ministering to our Cocke County friends. Each night we will be serving from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

WHO ARE WE PARTNERING WITH?
FBC Sevierville will be partnering with multiple churches in Cocke County to serve their congregations and communities. The list of churches is continuing to be built, but we are excited to partner with our neighboring sister churches.

WHAT WILL WE BE DOING WHILE SERVING IN COCKE COUNTY?
Think of this opportunity like serving on a mission trip — we want to allow our partner churches to tell us their needs so we can come alongside of them in ministering to their congregations. Though these needs are subject to change, we believe that warm meals, non-perishable food distribution, water distribution, and gospel conversations are top priorities.

WHAT ABOUT OUR NEIGHBORS IN SEVIER COUNTY?
