The Signs of His Coming

Jan 15, 2023    Pastor Dan Spencer

In Matthew 23, Jesus’s last public sermon, He preached harshly to the Jewish leadership regarding their hypocrisy. The last few verses shows His heart for His people, the Jews. Jesus wanted to love them, shelter them from judgment, lead them to safety and peace, but they were not willing. They rejected Him, their Savior and King.

Standing in the Temple, the center and focus of Judaism, He declares the place to be desolate (uninhabited by God) and then He walks out. From that day forward, the Jewish religion has been desolate and devoid of Jesus. The glory of God departed from the Temple and has not been there since. But that desolation will not be final.
