Psalm 107 is one of the great historical psalms that was used in the worship of Israel to inspire faith, to teach children how God had moved in the past, and to encourage the people to praise Him.
It is unique because it is made up of four images of rescue that show how God rescued His people from exile in Babylon. For us, on this side of the cross, it highlights how God has rescued us from sin and death.
Every Christian has a testimony of rescue to tell. “Rescue and redemption” is the story of our lives and the purpose of our church: those who have been rescued from sin and death become the rescuers as we share the gospel with those who are lost.
