The Great Reversal

Psalm 107 includes four images of rescue that show how God rescued His people from exile in Babylon. For us on this side of the cross, it highlights how God has rescued us from sin and death. In the previous sessions of this series, we have discussed:

Story #1: Being saved is like wandering and languishing in a desert, then being rescued and led home.

Story #2: Being saved is like being locked in a prison, then being rescued and set free.

Story #3: Being saved is like being sick and on your deathbed, then being healed and restored!

Story #4: Being saved is like being on a ship in a hurricane, then being rescued and brought to safety!

The last part of this psalm tells about how God reversed the situation of His people when they repented and turned back to Him. Let's look at Psalm 107:33-43.
