Keep It Real

Why do you do what you do? What is your motivation to accomplish the things you are called to do?

In Matthew 5, Jesus is turning the world upside down as He sets the standard for righteous living. The Sermon on the Mount doesn’t teach us how to live in order to get into the Kingdom of Heaven. Instead, it teaches men and women who are already part of the Kingdom of Heaven how to live on a daily basis. If we are truly people of God, these things should be true of us.

Let’s look at a word that Jesus uses three times regarding three different disciplines practiced by the Pharisee’s during those days. That word is hypocrites. Please find Matthew 5:1-8a and 16-18.
