Sunday: He is Risen!
In the last four session, we have been walking with Jesus through “5 Days That Changed the World”. We have looked at Wednesday, when Mary poured out the oil on Jesus’ head and feet in Bethany; Thursday, when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples in the Upper Room; and Friday, It is astounding what Jesus endured on Friday: He was betrayed by Judas, taken into custody by the Jewish authorities, interrogated by the high priest, falsely accused by bogus witnesses, blindfolded and beaten and spit on by the Temple guards, denied 3x by Peter, handed over to Pontius Pilate, scourged, forced to wear a crown of thorns, nailed to a cross and lifted up; and after six hours on the cross, Jesus cried out, “It is finished”. And then He died.
On Saturday, the tomb was silent; on Saturday the disciples grieved; on Saturday it seemed as if all hope was lost. But then came Sunday…
