The Exodus

Jun 23, 2024    Pastor Dan Spencer

In this session, we are going to read about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and their escape through the Red Sea. Once Pharaoh had set them free, he realizes that he no longer has slaves to do his bidding. He must have been thinking, “Oh no! They gone! What was I thinking?” So he begins a pursuit to recapture them.

As the Israelites realize Pharaoh and his armies are approaching, they begin to panic. Wait. What? The Israelites had just seen the Lord do all those amazing miracles, they had the fire and the cloud of His presence, they just boldly made their freedom march out of Egypt, they were 2 million strong – but now they are afraid, they are firing off these sarcastic complaints against Moses, and they think the Lord has abandoned them!

But Moses remained steadfast. He knew that even the most powerful nation on the earth couldn't stand in God's way or stop Him from doing what He planned. God was going to glorify His name on the earth, and He was going to use Pharaoh’s chariots and the Red Sea to send a very clear message, not use to them but to us as well!

Let's begin our study in Exodus 13.
